About the Music – Norwegian Folk, Singer-Songwriter, and Folk-Pop Sounds

Roger Stangervåg writes music about life, people, and the nature that surrounds us. With honest lyrics, strong melodies, and acoustic instrumentation, his music moves between folk, folk-pop, singer-songwriter, and folk-rock, always searching for new ways to tell compelling stories.

His music is produced at The Norwegian Sound in Mjøndalen alongside producers David Michelsen and Christoffer Simpson. His debut single Alt Av Dinna Jord was released in 2022, followed by his first album Via Vero in 2024—a collection of eight songs exploring human emotions and our connection to nature.

Collaboration is central to Roger’s creative process. Heidi Lambach contributes expressive backing vocals and sings a duet on Dag For Dag. Oddgeir Røssland appears as guitarist on several tracks, including Via Vero, More About Life, and Too High, and together they co-wrote Elvo.

In 2024, Roger founded his own label, Nature Beats, releasing singles like Ocean Of Memories, Ein Del Av Da, More About Life, Kloke Ord, and Too High. He sings primarily in Norwegian and his Bømlo dialect, occasionally performing in English when the song calls for it.

On stage, Roger creates genuine and intimate musical experiences, often taking time after concerts to meet the audience, share stories, and connect. His music lives in the landscape of folk, folk-pop, singer-songwriter, and folk-rock, constantly evolving in expression.
